As 2011 Nears!
When I was young, it was common to come home after church on Sunday evenings and sing with my family around the piano. We'd all pick a part to sing and it served as one means to bring our family closer together. Today many families are very busy with legitimate obligations which pull members this way and that. It's my conviction that we need family singing as part of family worship now more than ever. There are so many beautiful hymns and Psalters which kids today are growing up not being familiar with. Take a few minutes to introduce these songs and their wonderful, instructive words to your children and pray that the Lord will bless them abundantly! Wishing everyone a safe and blessed New Year in 2011! To God be the glory, great things He hath done!

T'was night in Bethlehems Meadows
This evening was a special time for the children of our elementary school because they had the opportunity to sing Christmas songs and recite scripture passages. "Joy to the World, the Lord is come". Music is a wonderful gift from the Lord and we are always excited to add more selections to our site so you have more options to choose from! Just this week two more recordings have been added. Jeff Knibbe plays many Psalter favorites on the piano while Mary Margaret May sings several hymns while being accompanied by a variety of instruments. If you haven't been to our site we encourage you to stop in and if you've been before, take a another look! We wish you a blessed Christmas and New Year.

Til' the Storm Passes By
As I was sitting in my living room tonight listening to the thunder crash and watching the lightning, I was reminded of "til' the storm passes over, and the thunder sounds no more, til' the clouds roll forever from the sky, hold me fast let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand, keep me safe til' the storm passes by". What a reminder of God's unfailing love for His people. This song is found on "Loud Your Anthems Raise" and is available with many more titles at thesacredmusicsource.com.

How Sweet the Sound
A new title was just added today to thesacredmusicsource.com which is primarily a capella, only this isn't any typical "barbershop quartet"! The Vocal Majority is a group of men totaling over 150 in number who sing in beautiful harmony to many favorites such as "Abide with me", "When the Roll is called up Yonder" and "The Lord's Prayer". The listener is sure to enjoy this recording!

Let the Music Sound!
In Psalm 135 it is written, "Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant." It is our desire to praise the Lord through vocal and instrumental music and we hope to continue adding recordings in the future with that focus in view. By the way, if there are CD's that fit with the theme of this site that you don't see here, we'd love to add them to thesacredmusicsource.com. Please send us an email message or call us. We hope you find this site, which is now up and ready, useful and inviting. May the Lord be glorified through song!

Just About Ready!
It's been a long time coming, and much time and effort has gone in to making a site that's devoted to traditional Christian music. Although not a finished product yet, thesacredmusicsource.com will ultimately be a place where you can come in, browse the various CD recordings, listen to sample clips of various songs and purchase the whole CD or download individual songs to your computer or MP3 device. We hope and pray that this site will be used to the lifting up of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of sinners.
